Ragdoll

History
Ragdoll history began in California in 1963. Ann Baker, a Persian cat breeders have a borrowing habits of the black male cat (named Blackie) from neighbors (Mrs. Pennels). Blackie has a black persian cat physically as resulting from a white parent named Josephine. Josephine is physical like angora cat with long fur that has a medium.
At one time Josephine was hit by a car and lying in the street for several days. After he found were brought to the animal hospital from a local college to be treated. Josephine back to health but lost one eye. After returning to the house of Mrs.. Pennel Josephine returned pregnant and produce children, but its nature changed, become calmer and more resistant to illness. This makes it increasingly interested in Ann Josephine Baker.
Josephine also had another male child from a different father, named Daddy Warbucks. Ann Baker is also often borrow this cat. From this crossbreeding third cat (Blackie, Josephine and Daddy Warbucks) Ann Baker obtained a Ragdoll Ras.

Ann Baker went on to establish a special organization Ragdoll cat enthusiast in 1971 which still stands today. Then there are husband and wife bought a pair of IRCA Ragdoll and intend to create standards and œmenstabilkanâ € â €? Ragdoll genetic traits that can be accepted by all cat associations fans.
From a breeding program with a rigorous selection eventually produced Ragdoll standard properties. Then the organization was founded Ragdoll Fanciers Club International (RFCI) that aims to disseminate this race and make the rules and guidelines for Ragdoll breeders.
Physical characteristics & properties
There are six kinds of colors contained in the Ragdoll but only four colors recognized by most cat associations fans are: seal, blue, and chocolate, lilac color, while red and cream are not recognized by several associations. All of these colors form a four color patterns were classified into: bi-color, van *, mitted and point (solid, lynx, tortie). (* By some associations are not recognized)

Big cats body is supported by weight loss, chest width, and a large part of the pelvis. Like other big cats, Ragdoll adult at the age of three years. Females are usually smaller than males with an average weight of 5 to 7.5 kg, while males can weigh 60-10 pounds or more.
Ragdoll including big cats and tame, has a medium-length hair with a texture like rabbit fur. Ragdoll familiar with humans and adaptable. Compared to Persian, Ragdoll does not require sweeping hair every day.
Such as race Himalayan & Siamese, Ragdoll is a cat with color gene œpointâ â € €??. At birth the child is born white Ragdoll, then slowly the other colors start to appear. The more adult cats, the color will be more concentrated.
