Balinesse

History

Ras balinese cat is a cat with an oriental cat body type (slender and long / svelte) long hair covered with color patterns such as race Siamese (colorpoint). Balinese cat’s fur is not all Himalayan (Persian colorpoint).
These races form spontaneously as a result of mutation Siamese race. Siam is a short haired cats,
because of spontaneous mutations arise Siamese cat with long hair. Simply Siamese cats and balinese is the same, the difference lies only in the long fur.Balinese initially listed as “longahired Siamese”. Around the 1920s, long berpulu Siamese kusing considered a rarity and sold as ordinary pets (pet). There are no special effort to breed these cats. Only in about 50 years of starting up the business to longhaired Siamese is considered as a separate race.
Around the mid 50′s, two cat breeders, Marion Dorsey (Rai-Mar Cattery, California) and Helen Smith (MerryMews Cattery, New York) decided to breed longhaired Siamese. Helen Smith named the balinese race, because the elegance of these cats like beauty, elegance and grace bali dancer.
Ras balinese later became popular and many breeders try to improve the characteristics and appearance of this race. Balinese and then split into two, namely traditional and modern. Some people prefer the traditional type while most of the breeders and judges prefer modern.
Traditional Siamese Sepertihalnya race, traditional balinese have a heavier body and sturdy, form a more rounded head and smaller ears than modern balinese. Traditional Balinese have medium hair length (+ 5 cm) are covered throughout the body, while modern balinese have short hair on the head and body, long hair is only in the tail alone.
Color variations are recognized by the CFA as a Siamese cat variation, namely: seal point, blue point, chocolate point and lilac point.
Characteristics Balinese
Almost all the nature and Balinese body shape similar to the Siamese. The difference lies only in the long fur.
