Turkish Van

History  
Turkish Van cat races have lived for thousands of years in his native region, called Anatolia. Various historical records have shown that there has been a cat with a "white ring" on the tail. The archaeologists also found many relics of wartime conquest of Armenia by the Romans. Various relics in the form of arms and flag with the large cat image on white ringed tail. In 1955, two British women, Laura Lushington and Sonia Halliday, first time seeing Van cats in Turkey. Then they decided to bring these cats to England. Characteristics of Turkish Van Cats Although both have the word "Turkish" in its name, Turkish Van and Turkish Angora are two very different races. Angora slender with soft fur and fluffy, while Van bulkier and heavier with thicker fur.

One characteristic of Van is a favorite for water. Van is the cat who love swimming. According to its nature, the van was awarded the bristles dry quickly when exposed to water. Most cats vans in the United States is the cat who lived in the house and can not have access to visit the area where there are a lot of water like a fish pond or river. But lovers of the natural properties of water still remained. Instead of swimming they "find game fish in the toilet."
 
Van head width, triangular, medium length nose with prominent cheekbones, small chin and big ears. Van cats must have a white body color with other colors (except white) on top of the head and tail.
